This course is designed to provide the basic knowledge and clinical practice necessary for the dental auxiliary to perform expanded functions permitted by the rules and regulations of the Florida State Board of Dentistry.

Prerequisites: DESC 2832 with a grade of "C" or higher

Students will gain theoretical knowledge and practical application of alternative methods in dentistry for retraction techniques, dental dam materials, matrix systems, impression systems, provisional crown and bridge fabrication, dental photography, and orthodontic expanded functions as permitted by the rules and regulations of the Florida State Board of Dentistry.
