This certificate program prepares the student to apply for licensure as a practical nurse. Employment opportunities are available in long-term care facilities, hospitals, doctors' offices, and health maintenance organizations.
Students successfully completing the program are eligible to take the State Board of Nursing Examination for Practical Nurses NCLEX-PN. Students who become a LPN may apply to the Associate Degree Nursing Program (ADN).

Career Development Course: PRNC 0389 Intravenous Therapy for Licensed Practical Nurses
Career development courses are optional courses and cannot be substituted for any of the program major courses. However, students are encouraged to take them to better prepare themselves for a career in nursing.
