Important Location Details and Course Material Information

  • Beginning with Fall Term 2023, Eastern Florida State College is using a new course material delivery model, Titan First Day Ready. In partnership with the EFSC Bookstores, powered by Barnes and Noble College, First Day Ready ensures students have their required materials before the first day of class. Through the program, physical books will be conveniently packaged and provided to students on a rental basis, with easy pickup at a campus bookstore or shipment to a student's home. Digital materials will be delivered directly through the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Materials are funded through a cost per credit hour charge of $25 per credit hour for all for credit courses that students registered for during the term. It's estimated the program will save eligible students 35–50% on the cost of course materials each term as compared to buying items directly for every course. The program replaces the prior First Day Inclusive Access program that was in use for select EFSC courses through Summer Term 2023. Enrollment in Titan First Day Ready is automatic for courses that qualify, and there is an opt-out period each term as defined on the Titan First Day Ready web page. Currently, NOT included in Titan First Day Ready are: courses for programs that earn a Career and Technical Certificate (CTC), also known as clock-hour workforce programs, continuing education, and non-credit based programs. These three categories are excluded from the program.

  • EFSC Bookstores are open on the Cocoa, Melbourne and Palm Bay Campuses, with added walk-in hours at the beginning and end of the term to facilitate textbook pick-up and rental returns. There is no bookstore on the Titusville Campus. If you need books for a Titusville Campus course, those materials are carried at the Cocoa store and also online.
  • Textbooks (new, used, or rental) and other course materials can be ordered online at the same price as the merchandise available in-store, with an approximate turnaround time of two days. Be sure to have your course schedule on hand, as you will need course numbers to find the correct books. You will be using the "Find Course Materials" page in our online store and selecting the Campus where the course takes place or online for Eastern Florida Online classes.
  • All orders over $75 will receive free ground shipping. You can choose to pick up your online order(s) in-store at the campus where the course takes place or have the order shipped to your home. If you have classes on multiple campuses, you can order all your books in one online order, and all the items will ship to your home with no shipping charge if the total order meets that $75 minimum.
  • Online order pick-up will be available at the Cocoa, Melbourne and Palm Bay campuses (check the Locations and Hours box on this page for more detailed information, and remember Titusville books can be picked up at the Cocoa store). To pick up an order, you will need either your confirmation email or a valid picture ID.

Cash for Books:

Campus bookstores buy back used books every day. The best time to sell back used books is when finals start. The bookstores will pay up to 50% of the book's selling price if professors have assigned it for the next term and the bookstore is not overstocked. If the book does not meet these criteria, prices are determined by the current national demand. Study guides and workbooks must be "like new," without any writing on their pages. All books must be in good condition. Some books have little or no monetary value. One-time use, out-of-print books, and old editions are not in national demand, and will not be purchased. For students' protection, current student identification is required for all buyback transactions.

Textbook Refund Policy:

A full refund will be given in the original form of payment if textbooks are returned during the first week of classes with the original receipt. With a proof of schedule change and original receipt, a full refund will be given in the original form of payment during the first 30 days of classes.
