ECP 3530  Economics of Health and Healthcare Policy

This introductory course will provide the student with a basic overview of healthcare markets using methods of economic analysis. The course will examine healthcare markets from demand and supply side perspectives, as well as examining public policy issues pertaining to the delivery of healthcare services. Additional topics include competitive vs. non-competitive markets, health insurance markets, pharmaceutical markets, the overall healthcare labor market, and a comparative analysis of healthcare systems in the United States and internationally.
