EME 2040  Introduction to Technology for Educators

This course is intended for Education majors. Topics cover graphic materials, evaluation of technology, identification of ethical issues, universal design, assistive technology, and the development of audio visual aids. The course will also address computer literacy, levels of computer maintenance, the development of technology-based lesson plans, and a review of the efficiency of technology usage within the school based on internal and external data sources. Students will be provided an overview of the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices, Sunshine State Standards (and new Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards), the Professional Educator Competencies, and the National Educational Technology Standards.

EME 2948  Service-Learning Field Studies 1

This course gives students opportunity to understand the relationship of theory to practice through participation in a service-learning experience. Students are required to complete 20 hours of volunteer work, a service-learning contract, and an oral and written reflection of the experience.
