An Honors Seminar designed to allow students to explore issues important to self-discovery and academic growth and development. The seminar will bring together students, academic leaders, and guest lecturers to enrich the Honors experience. Topics are chosen to help students develop good listening, reasoning, and articulation skills. This course may be taken for maximum credit of 2.

An Honors Seminar designed to allow students to explore issues important to self-discovery and academic growth and development. This course introduces students to the general principles and practical implementation of qualitative and quantitative research in the Behavioral/Social sciences, Education, English, Humanities, and Communication. Skills to be developed include, but are not limited to, the following: formulating research questions; researching and critiquing literature; designing a research project proposal; identifying anticipated ethical issues throughout the sections of a proposal; completing institutional review board (IRB) training; submitting a complete written proposal; and presenting the proposal in an oral format for peer and faculty review.
